Ara ararauna

Found in the Amazon rainforest, this macaw feeds on fruits, seeds and nectar, the strength of its beak allows it to eat nuts and seeds inaccessible to other species.

Because of their vibrant colors, intelligence, and ability to mimic human sounds, they are very popular… And many of them are captured to be resold to unscrupulous buyers, thus responsible for their disappearance. In addition, there is hunting and the destruction of their habitat.

You’ll be amazed by the powerful screams, and their beautiful colors!

While ararauna macaws are not threatened, other macaw species are very endangered: we are happy to support the actions of the Armonia association since 2022, which works to save the blue-throated macaw in Bolivia!
