Ring-tailed Coati

A cousin of the raccoon, the coati lives on the ground as well as in trees, where it moves easily thanks to its powerful claws and its long tail, used as a pendulum. Omnivorous, it searches the ground with its long snout, in search of food: fruit, small animals, eggs…
While females and young live in groups, males are solitary: females only tolerate them during the breeding season!

In La Barben, you will discover in a large green aviary a family group, made up of a sibling group of 3 individuals born in 2013.
Shhh… Certainly you will be able to hear their little whistles!
