Hyenas are powerful animals that are easily recognizable with their dog-like appearance, backs sloping backs, and highly developed jaws capable of breaking bones. Less well known than the spotted hyena, the striped hyena keeps its mysteries. It would rest alone or in small family groups in its burrow, but would hunt alone. It feeds on carrion, but also on prey, fruits, plants, and even detritus!
Unfortunately, hyenas are persecuted, because it is wrongly said that they loot graves and steal children. They also suffer from the decrease in the number of carrion and their living spaces. They are thus on the verge of extinction; yet they play a vital health role, by eliminating carrion and garbage, sources of disease!

Births to this species are very rare, there are usually only one or two litters per year in European zoos… We are very happy that our hyenas have raised young twice!
They evolve in 3 parks connected to each other.
