These marsupials, with shapes similar to kangaroos, move mainly by leaps, thanks to their long legs and muscular tail, and can reach speeds of up to 65 km/h!
After only 29 days of gestation, the wallaby gives birth to a very early fetus, which is less than 2 cm long, hairless, blind and deaf. It will then crawl to its mother’s protective pouch located on her belly and cling to one of the udders. It will not be released definitively until 9 months later!

At the zoo, they live in a vast park, which they share with the emus. Be observant during your visit: perhaps you will see a small head protruding from the pouch of one of the females!
