A large family

Vervets are part of the genus Chlorocebus, as are grivets and green monkeys, other closely related species. These primates are found in sub-Saharan Africa, in a variety of habitats: forests, savannahs, cultivated areas, and even urban areas!
They are not threatened, but nevertheless suffer from deforestation, hunting and capture as pets… This is the case of the animals present in La Barben, seized by the authorities from private individuals!
