Panther or leopard?

Panther and leopard are two names that designate the same animal! Its beige coat, with rosettes or black dots, allows it to camouflage itself easily in the vegetation. A massive skeleton and powerful musculature make it an excellent hunter, capable of running at 60 km/h and jumping 3 meters high… However, it hunts on the prowl, hidden in a tree or tall grass, pouncing on prey.

In La Barben live two panther brothers of the Sri Lankan subspecies. This is particularly threatened with extinction: there are barely 800 individuals left in the wild!
That’s why we support the Wilderness and Wildlife Conservation Trust, which works to protect them in Sri Lanka.
