A fox on stilts?

Contrary to its name, the maned wolf is more like a fox on stilts. Its long legs are certainly an adaptation to the tall grass among which it moves: it can see over them!

It is an omnivorous animal, feeding on small mammals, birds, reptiles, but also fruits and other plants!

This species is unfortunately endangered, which is why European zoos have set up an EEP (European Breeding Program). It is in this context that we welcome as a couple, formed in February 2020.
In order for the maned wolves of La Barben to help those in the wild, we have been supporting a conservation program for this species in Brazil since 2022!
