EAZA Campaigns

Since 2000, the EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquariums) has been organising conservation campaigns, which are relayed in zoos with a double objective:
– Raise awareness among visitors of the issue addressed
– Raise funds to finance conservation programs related to this theme

Many subjects were highlighted: global warming, great apes, the fauna of Madagascar and local biodiversity.

With each campaign, more than 100 participating establishments and millions of visitors were raised and encouraged to take action. In more than 15 years, more than 5 million euros have been collected, making it possible to finance nearly 150 conservation projects!

These campaigns have also made it possible to change laws, particularly on the trade in great ape meat.
