Leprous Emyde – the turtle refuge

logo refuge des tortuesThe leprosy turtle (Mauremys leprosa) is a species considered vulnerable and is one of the most endangered reptiles in France. It is also nicknamed the “Mediterranean turtle”.
In Haute-Garonne, the turtle sanctuary is creating a breeding station for the study and conservation of this species, with the aim of releasing turtles.

Several playful productions are carried out to raise awareness of the leprous emyde:
– Creation of a video documentary
– Creation of a cartoon
– Photo exhibitions
– Creation of a reference book

You can learn more about their activities on their website: https://lerefugedestortues.fr/
