Following the arrival of two “Sri Lankan panthers” in 2017, we are pleased to support, through our association Ecofaune, a conservation program for this subspecies. It is necessary to act, because on this island, there are less than 800 individuals… The cause: poaching and persecution, but also deforestation…
That’s why we support the Wildlife and Wilderness Conservation Trust, which works to save this subspecies. Various actions are carried out:
– research, in order to better understand the animal and thus better understand how to protect it
– Education: raising awareness among local populations about the protection of this animal
– protection: movement of problematic individuals, protection of forests, etc.
