The heavyweight of the snake world
This snake is the heaviest in the world, especially the females: they can be five times larger than the males! It owes its name to the green color of the upper part of its body, while the ventral part varies between gray, orange, or yellow.
It feeds on large prey, which it kills by constriction: young tapirs, capybaras, fish, but also crocodiles, boa constrictors… The rare cases of attacks on humans that may have occurred have fueled the human imagination.
