Rhinoceros – Save The Rhino

SRINewLogo(small)All 5 species of rhinos are endangered, whether they live in Africa or Asia. The cause: the disappearance of their habitat, and especially poaching; Rhinoceros horns are highly sought after for traditional Chinese medicine.

While poaching was relatively under control, since 2008 it has reached dramatic levels. Every year, more than 700 rhinos are killed in southern Africa by large criminal organizations using cruel methods to remove the horns and then sell them in Asia.

The organization “Save The Rhino” has been working for more than 25 years to save rhinos in Africa and Asia, through various field programs and raising awareness among human communities.
Since 2011, the La Barben animal park and Ecofaune have been supporting the actions of “Save The Rhino”: the fight against rhinoceros poaching in Africa, education programs to reduce the demand for horn in Asia…
