We are proud to join the Global Biodiversity Coalition, whose message is clear: we are facing a planetary emergency: the collapse of biodiversity, caused by human actions. Now, we belong to nature, we depend on nature, and nature needs us like never before…
Indeed, did you know that more than a million plant and animal species are threatened with extinction in the near future? This is due to deforestation, hunting and poaching, pollution, climate change, overexploitation of natural resources, etc. This is why the European Commission has launched this coalition, in order to raise awareness among the world’s citizens about nature protection. The aim is also to call for ambitious decisions to be taken at the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP 15) of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity. This international meeting is expected to be held in China in 2021.
As our park has been committed to the protection of biodiversity for a long time, through awareness raising as well as through actions on the ground, joining this coalition was an obvious choice, and we look forward to welcoming you to share this commitment!
