The longest snake in the world!
This snake can exceptionally exceed 8 meters in length, nevertheless it remains quite thin. It owes its name to the characteristic markings forming geometric patterns, which allow it to camouflage itself.
It feeds mainly on mammals, sometimes large ones: it is capable of ingesting deer or antelopes! Its prey is killed by constriction.
This snake suffers from deforestation and hunting for its skin and meat.
The individuals present at La Barben reach a length of 5 metres.
