A shell without scales?!

Although able to move on land, this turtle is almost entirely aquatic, a way of life that has earned it different adaptations. Lacking scales, its shell has a very thick and yet supple leather, allowing the turtle to swim very quickly. Its legs are webbed, and its trumpet-shaped nose allows it to breathe without sticking its head out.
An opportunistic carnivore, it is known for its aggressive behavior.

Its meat is appreciated, which is why it is caught in large numbers. However, it is not considered threatened.
